The commitment of (top-) management is essential for a successful implementation of a management system. Success could be defined as a situation were the experienced benefits from the system exceed the costs.

The scope should explain what are the elements of the management system, these can be quality, environment, or work conditions, and many others, depending on the standards integrated in the management system
